The Jacktown Premiere – The History of Michigan’s First State Prison – Jackson

Jackson Journeys LLC & The Michigan Theatre, cordially invite you to the JACKTOWN PREMIERE: The History of Michigan’s First State Prison; the new and exciting first part of the Jackson Historic Prison Tours on April 10 at 6 pm.

This interactive film includes live storytelling by Judy Gail Krasnow, stories of prison life, colorful inmates, night keepers, wardens, and escape plots; along with crime, punishment, and reform. The Michigan Theatre’s HD screen visually brings these fascinating history to life. This program is the new and exciting first part of the Jackson Historic Prison Tours and also includes a brief tour of the historic Michigan Theatre. For Tour Guides and Media, Jackson Journeys will be offering a free, private tour of 7-Block, on the live grounds at Jackson’s State Correctional Facilities. Go inside the cells, walk the five tiers of galleries, and step out onto the old prison yard.

Jackson Journeys & The Michigan Theatre will be providing Hors Doevres. The private tour of 7-Block will take place prior to the “Jacktown Premiere”. The bus will be departing from the Michigan Theatre at 3:00 p.m. sharp.
