Tchaikovsky Explosion – Jackson
7:30 PM March 15
What is it about Tchaikovsky, whose music engages us on so many levels? Where would ballet companies be without the “Nutcracker,” “Sleeping Beauty” or “Swan Lake”? Symphony pops concerts wouldn’t be complete without the “1812 Overture.”
Answers to those and other questions will be beautifully answered with music and dialogue at the “Tchaikovsky Explosion,” the Jackson Symphony Orchestra concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15 in the Jackson College Potter Center Music Hall, sponsored by Spring Arbor University.
A special feature that evening will be a narration delivered by Composer-in-Residence and Spring Arbor Professor of Music, Dr. Bruce Brown, who will guide the audience through a most memorable excursion. Also joining the JSO for the evening will be Katherine Tombaugh as featured soloist and pianist John Boonenberg.
