Summer Reading Kickoff Event- Jackson District Library Carnegie Branch

June 15, 2013 @ 11:00 am – 3:00 pm

Join us at the Carnegie Library on Saturday, June 15, from 11 AM to 3 PM for the 2013 Summer Reading Kickoff! The entire JDL staff will come together at the Carnegie Library to bring you a fun–filled event for the whole family!

We’ll have free hot dogs and free cotton candy for everyone, plus magic shows, face painting, balloon animals, a live DJ, a bouncy house, and oh-so-many games, activities, and prizes! We’ll showcase big digging machines, including big construction vehicles, a big snowplow, a big fire truck, and even a police car! Sign up for our free summer reading program, and get a free book, too!

And the fun continues throughout the summer with special performers and activities at all of our branches, including Magician Jeff Boyer, Ron Loyd the Bubble Man, and Whispering Pines Mobile Zoo featuring live “Delightful Diggers!” Come face to face with LIVE bats from the Organization for Bat Conservation, learn about Australian Aboriginal art, music and culture with Australian Didge-ucation, and have a night of spook-tacular fun exploring our 107 year-old building at our special Haunted Carnegie program! Plus don’t miss this summer’s rock hounding, pirate treasure hunts, scavenger hunts, bug barns, and so much more!

It’s all listed in our Jackson District Library Summer Reading Program guide—pick one up at any JDL branch!
