Student Life Center Dedication Ceremony/Reception- Spring Arbor University

May 9, 2013 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Spring Arbor University recently completed its $7.2 million fundraising campaign for the addition and expansion of the Student Life Center in December 2012. The final touches were placed on the Dorrice Ogle Dining Commons to finalize the project prior to the students’ return to campus for January classes.
“We are thankful to the donors and community members who made this much-needed improvement to the Student Life Center a reality. This wonderful facility will serve our students and the community at large for many years to come,” says Charles H. Webb, university president.
The need for an expanded student center on campus has increased with growing enrollment over the past 10 years. Originally designed to serve the needs of 700, Spring Arbor University’s population outgrew this facility several years ago. Today we serve 1,700 students on a daily basis. Construction on the building started in September 2011.
The renovation and 20,000-square-foot expansion included:
• New meeting/learning areas
• Expanded health care facility (wellness and counseling)
• Expanded career services office
• Expanded game room and Cougar Den
• Expanded dining facilities
• Expanded bookstore
• New furnishings throughout the building
• Expanded areas for commuter students

A public dedication ceremony and reception is set for Thursday, May 9, at 4 p.m. More information about the dedication ceremony will be released closer to the event. To view photos of the Student Life Center, visit Spring Arbor U on Flickr.
