Model T’s Roll into Albion
Albion, Michigan-Like antique cars? Stop by the Gardner House Museum, 509 S. Superior, on Saturday, May 18, in the late morning. A Model T Ford Club from Michigan will stop in Albion that day. More than one-hundred people in 20-30 cars will first drive to nearby Victory Park, then they’ll head to the museum.

According to its website, the Model T Ford was built for model years 1909 through 1927. More than 15 million rolled off the assembly lines and put the world on wheels. Their durability, the availability of parts and their simplicity make them a practical car for a hobbyist. There are many Model T’s still on the roads today being driven and enjoyed all over the world.

Albion Historical Society works to preserve and display the heritage of the Albion area. It owns and operates the Gardner House Museum. The society is led by a volunteer board of directors and is made up of nearly 200 members. They care for thousands of artifacts, educate the public about local history and display exhibits. The newest exhibit is called “From Bloomers to Bell Bottoms,” and includes clothes from the 1890’s through the 1970’s and pictures of local clothing stores from the past.

The museum opens to the public on Saturday, May 11 for its annual Mother’s Day Tea. It will be open weekends 2-4 p.m. through the end of September. To see pictures of the museum, join the Albion Historical Society or learn more,
