Leslie Science & Nature Center welcomes the community to celebrate Halloween with hikes, games, crafts, and outdoor activities during LSNC’s annual non-scary Animal Haunts event. Two sessions of guided hikes through Black Pond Woods are designed to educate and delight families, as costumed naturalist interpreters bring animals to life through natural history and stories.
All ages are welcome, and encouraged to attend in costume. The early session, running from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., features a shorter hike and the option to explore before sunset – elements that may appeal to parents of young children. The later session runs from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. We’ll have festive fun throughout the evening, including harvest games and crafts, face painting, and a hay jump. It’s a perfect opportunity to enjoy Michigan’s autumn weather with the whole family. LSNC’s Critter House will be open for the duration of the event, and our Raptor Enclosures will also be accessible throughout. Join us for this event Saturday, October 26, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Leslie Science & Nature Center, 1831 Traver Road, Ann Arbor, MI, 48105.
Cheese Dream, a locally-owned and operated food cart specializing in grilled cheese sandwiches, and Dexter’s Bearclaw Coffee Co. will both be on site throughout the evening for attendees looking for a delicious kid-friendly dinner, a between-meals snack, or a warm drink to ward off the autumn chill.
Leslie Science & Nature Center’s Animal Haunts is a well-loved evening of family fun. Tickets are just $38/family, or can be purchased individually for $10. All ages are welcome. Register online now at lesliesnc.org or call 734-997-1553.
