The Jackson Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Michigan is hosting an information fair for all area residents who are blind or experiencing vision loss. This outreach to the community will take place at the Westwood Mall located at 1850 West Michigan avenue in Jackson,MI on Tuesday, October 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The information fair is free and everyone will have the opportunity to visit with a variety of providers of services and products helpful to those with vision loss.
Among the many agencies and organizations will be specialists providing diabetic and low vision screening, Lions clubs with their eye glass and kid sight programs, vocational training and Braille production services, Newsline for the blind and an accessable voting machine available at all voting precincts and used by those with a vision loss during elections.
The Jackson area chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Michigan is an organization committed to the improvement of lives for all blind and visually impaired persons. David Robinson, president of the local chapter states that “It is important to everyone experiencing a vision loss, that they know about the services and products available to them so they can continue to live a productive and fulfilling life”. Anyone experiencing a vision loss can come to the Westwood Mall on October 15 and find the help they may need.
