On Monday, January 15th, Spring Arbor University will host “Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy Service Day Project”, a countywide community service project organized by the SAU Office of Intercultural Relations.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy Service Day Project will be the largest organized single day community service project in Jackson County with the intent of organizing over 500 volunteers on January 15, 2018. The January 2016 and 2017 service day projects have involved over 250 and over 300 volunteers, respectively. This year’s event will start with a community rally in the Michigan Theatre in the City of Jackson, 124 N Mechanic Street. The event will include the involvement of local nonprofits, businesses, and local service clubs.
The event begins at 10 a.m. (doors open at 9:30 a.m.) in downtown Jackson’s historic Michigan Theatre. Volunteers will be provided free donuts, coffee, and sponsorship t-shirts.
