Spring is in the air and it’s time to celebrate at Leslie Science & Nature Center’s (LSNC) Spring Eggstravaganza event! Come on out for a morning of fun for the whole family at LSNC, 1831 Traver Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, on Saturday April 20th from 10am-12pm.
At Spring Eggstravaganza we celebrate all of the fantastic animals that lay eggs! Learn about them by visiting our Critter House and Raptor Enclosures for live animal presentations and egg matching games. Build a bird’s nest and see if it can keep your eggs safe. Then make a “seed egg” full of native Michigan wildflower seeds to take home and plant! Younger kids can follow a story along the trails in Black Pond Woods to search of eggs while older kids can test their navigational skills by using a compass to locate clues in our EGGspert Orienteering Challenge! If you are lucky enough you may even find one of the 5 coveted golden eggs hidden on our grounds and win a grand prize!
“Spring Eggstravaganza has got a little bit of everything for everyone,” says LSNC’s Huron Pines AmeriCorps member, Trish Brockman. “I’m super stoked for the EGGspert Orienteering Challenge! Using a compass to navigate is becoming a lost art, but it’s a great skill to have, especially if you love being in the outdoors.”
Bring your own bag or basket for collecting eggs and taking home prizes. The egg hunts run all morning, so feel free to stop by at any time during the event! Please note that, while everyone can take home crafts and a small prize, this event is candy free.
If you are interested in participating in this event, please pre-register on our website, https://www.lesliesnc.org/, or by calling LSNC at 734-997-1553. Pre-registration is required by Friday, April 12th. Registration is $8 per child, adults and children under 1 years old are free!
