“Kanoe the Kazoo” paddle party – Albion

On August 2nd, the Greater Albion Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau is hosting a “Kanoe the Kazoo” paddle party from Homer to Albion. Paddlers will start at Grist Mill Park in Homer at 8 AM and paddle to the American Legion Hall, 1230 Edwards St., Albion. At the conclusion of the paddle, participants will received a free picnic lunch, courtesy of the Veteran members of the American Legion.


Participants must register in advance with the Greater Albion Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau (517) 629-5533. Fifteen “loner” boats will be available on a first come, first served basis for this event. All participants will receive snack foods and bottled water to take on their trip, along with free emergency preparedness kits, courtesy of the Calhoun County Visitors Bureau.


A total of eleven floats are planned for the Kalamazoo River Watershed, which stretches from western Jackson County to Lake Michigan. To see the complete list of paddle parties and the dates, go to www.kalamazooriver.org for more information.
