Music lovers are invited to the Community String Ensemble’s Spring concert being performed at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 8 downtown at the Jackson Symphony Orchestra’s Performing Arts Center. Music Director Clyde McKaney will be conducting this free concert which will include Holst’s Brook Green Suite, the delightful Call for Spring by Michelle Diehl, the spirited and light hearted “Rigaudon” from Grieg’s Holberg Suite, and an exciting arrangement of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Russian Easter Overture. Members of the ensemble will be featured along with soloists. Following the concert guests are invited to enjoy light refreshments and chat with the musicians.
Community Strings is a group of local musicians who rehearse and perform just because they love the art of music.
