Jackson Community Ambulance accepting nominations – Jackson
Jackson Community Ambulance (JCA) wants to recognize the everyday heroes who have performed a courageous act in an attempt to save someone’s life and the organizations that have created a heart safe work environment.
JCA is accepting nominations for their Life Saving and the Heart Safe Awards. The awards will be presented at a recognition dinner on Thursday, May 22, 2014 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The awards are presented annually during National EMS Week, a time for local communities and EMS personnel to publicize safety and honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s “front line.”
Nominees for the Life Saving Award can be citizens of any age who live in the JCA service area who have saved or attempted to save a life under unusual or extraordinary circumstances.
A business or organization in the JCA service area can be nominated for the Heart Safe Award. Nominees must meet the following criteria for creating a “heart safe” environment at their workplace:
* Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in all buildings
* Staff trained in CPR/AEDs in all buildings
* Cardiac emergency response plan drills
