The Girl Quest and Boy Quest program is planning their 2nd Annual Glow Run. This is the culminating run of the 2013 Fall Questers, many of whom have never been in a run before.
It’s not a race, it’s an experience! You and your family are invited to get glowing and get going at this night time 5k run/walk in Ella Sharp Park. Throughout the course there will be DJ’s providing music and of course plenty of glowing lights. This is an untimed events focused on encouragement. There will be prizes awarded for brightest and most creative costumes.
Details of the event:
Saturday November 16th at Ella Sharp Park with registration starting at 5:30pm and the run starting as soon as dark falls. If registered before November 10th you will receive a shirt and the cost for the run is a follows: Youth (12 and under) – $15, Adult – $20, Family (up to 4 members) – $50. After Nov. 10 you will not receive a shirt and the cost for the run will be: Youth – $20, Adult – $25, Family $60. Shirts will be available for sale at the event. Also a vendor will be there selling glow related merchandise.
About the Girl Quest and Boy Quest Program:
The Quest programs are gender-specific to create a safe and supportive space for boys and girls to deal with those issues through the framework of team training for a 5k run. Over the course of 10 weeks, the Girl Quest & Boy Quest curriculum teaches healthy habits and personal/social development skills for students in grades 3-7. The Quest programs use physical activity and training to nurture the development of participants in five areas of their lives: physical, relational, emotional, intellectual and spiritual.
