Ella Sharp Fall Harvest Festival
Sunday, October 6, 2013
Admission is free with some ticketed activities.
The day will be filled with traditional favorites such as pumpkin painting, make-n-take arts and crafts for children, face painting, a fall-themed game area, the antique tractor parade, a craft show, and live music. Schupbach’s Sporting Goods will return for their fourth year with archery lessons for kids. We are also very pleased to welcome back Detroit Tigers Mascot PAWS, broom maker Jeff Johnson, blacksmith demonstrations by Larry Carrigan, and spinning and weaving demonstrations by the Jackson Handweavers Guild.
Farmhouse tours will be available for a $1/person. Historical buildings and galleries will be open with free admission. Our clay studio will be open during the festival, and children can try their hand at throwing on the wheel while visiting with members of the Jackson Pottery and Clay Guild.
The day would not be complete without a farm market, popcorn from Popcorn Charlie, cotton candy, caramel apples, donuts, mulled cider, and apple cider making demonstrations. If you are hungry for more than a snack, the Granary Restaurant will be open for lunch, and we will be serving hot dogs, chips and beverages in our Grand Community Room.
