**Due to recent events, all classes will be taught outdoors in the shade or under a canopy this summer and fall. Chairs will be set apart to accommodate social distancing, and while masks are not required you are more than to welcome to wear one if you feel comfortable. Classes are weather permitting, so if the class is cancelled due to weather, you will either be offered a full refund or reschedule – the choice is yours.
Hot pack? Raw pack? Waterbath can? Pressure can? Dial Gauge? Weighted Gauge? Headspace? Exhaust – in the kitchen?? If this sounds like foreign language to you but you are interested in learning how to safely preserve food in your own kitchen, join K7 Farm for a canning class!
This class focuses in-depth on the canning method of food preservation. Whether your interest is jams, jellies, butters, fruits, salsas, vegetables, pickles, soups, meats or meals, we will discuss how to can them all! Tools and equipment will be on display, demonstration will be given, as well as time and money saving tips from a mom of eight who cans over a thousand jars each season!
Cost is $25 per person. Space is limited, so please register early. Payment and registration secure your spot. Payment can be made via paypal, cash or a check.
This class will be taught at K7 Farm in Concord, MI. Expect the class to take about 2 hours.
Childcare can be provided for a small additional fee arranged ahead of time for younger children who may benefit from constant supervision, and the instructor’s own children will be home and happy to play with your children if they don’t want to sit through the class.
