Annie Get Your Gun comes to Centre Stage in Adrian

Lenawee Christian School’s Drama Department will present Annie Get Your Gun April 25-27, 2013. This charming show-within-a-show portrays the historical story of Annie Oakley (1860–1926), a sharpshooter who starred in the real Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show and her romance with sharpshooter Frank Butler.

The original Broadway production opened in 1946, starring Ethel Merman. It was a huge hit, winning many awards over its long runs in New York and London, along with spawning revivals, a 1950 film, and several television versions as well.

With lyrics and music written by Irving Berlin, it’s an extraordinary show loaded with familiar musical favorites, like “There’s No Business Like Show Business”, “Doin’ What Comes Natur’lly”, “You Can’t Get a Man with a Gun”, “The Girl That I Marry “, and “Anything You Can Do.”

Full of fun and familiar characters, including Annie Oakley, Buffalo Bill, Frank Butler, Sitting Bull and a supporting cast of nearly 50 from grades 1-12, this local production targets delightful entertainment for all ages. Four “bulls-eye” performances will be presented on Centre Stage at the Christian Family Centre in Adrian, MI at 7pm on April 25, 26, and 27 and at 2pm on April 27. Tickets are just $8 for seniors and students and $10 for adults and are available now in the Lenawee Christian High School Office or at the door prior to each show.

Lenawee Christian School is a nondenominational Christian school that provides personalized academics in a safe and nurturing environment. Accreditations include the North Central Association and the Association of Christian Schools International. Serving students 5-weeks old through grade 12, it was founded in 1977 and is located in Adrian, Michigan. The student body numbers more than 550, representing about 350 families from five counties in southeastern Michigan, as well as northern Ohio.
