The United Way of Jackson County Labor Participation Committee will be holding the 23rd Annual Spaghetti Dinner on Thursday, April 25th, at the UAW Hall, 1002 E. South Street, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The meal includes meat or vegetarian spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, dessert and beverage. The cost is $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for senior citizens and children under 10. Carry out is available.
Complete meals can also be delivered to the home or workplace for $7.00 per meal. To place an order, call (517) 796-5121 in advance or (517) 416-5422 from 10 am – 7 pm on the day of the dinner. Free delivery is provided by volunteer drivers.
Proceeds from the dinner will be distributed to the Imagination Library, a United Way endorsed program that provides free books to any Jackson County child from zero to age five. In 2012, nearly 4,000 children received almost 48,000 books through the program. Children participating in Imagination Library have shown improved literacy and school readiness skills when compared to children who did not participate in Imagination Library.
The dinner is sponsored by the Labor Participation Committee of United Way of Jackson County, and has raised over $65,000 to help families in need in Jackson County.
