The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and presenting sponsor Consumers Energy are convening a half-day Legislative Summit on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Cascades Manor House to help educate businesses on key business issues and to provide access to legislators.
Topics for discussion during the summit include: transportation funding by House Transportation & Infrastructure Chair Wayne Schmidt (R-Traverse City), the Governor’s Regional Prosperity Initiative, I94 expansion by Michigan Department of Transportation, and No Fault Auto Insurance Reform by Michigan Health & Hospital Association and Michigan Insurance Agents.
Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30am. The summit concludes at 11am and is followed by an Economic Club Luncheon, featuring a State Legislative Update with Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville, Senator Bruce Caswell, Representatives Earl Poleski and Representative Mike Shirkey. Topics for the panel discussion include Medicaid Expansion, Personal Property Tax reform and other relevant business issues.
Prices for the half-day summit are $25 for Members ($45 for Potential Members). Registrants can attend both the summit and the Economic Club Lunch for $40 for Members ($90 for Potential Members).
