Detroit native Regina Carter is the foremost jazz violinist of her generation. Her quest for beauty and her passion for excellence did not escape the attention of the MacArthur Foundation, who awarded Regina their prestigious fellowship “genius” grant. Regina’s recent release, Ella: Accentuate the Positive, and touring program, Simply Ella, mark the 100th birthday of a musical legend. The program celebrates the incomparable Ella Fitzgerald—the source of Regina’s musical inspiration.

The Bach’s Lunch series promotes classical music through free noontime concerts open to the public, featuring Community Music School students, faculty and guest artists. Concerts also include demonstration and commentary given by professional musicians. Come for all or part of the time. All proceeds and donations support CMS programs and community outreach.

Cottage Inn pizza slices and beverages will be available for purchase or feel free to bring in your own lunch and enjoy complimentary coffee, tea and cookies.

With twenty Grammy® Awards between them, two iconic groups have joined forces in The Summit. This is an EVENT! In The Summit, The Manhattan Transfer and Take 6 have created musical moments on stage – performing nearly a dozen songs together. Experience the creativity, excitement, and renowned performances that only two such phenomenal groups can bring to one stage, in the moment. The Manhattan Transfer’s jazzy hits range from 1975’s “Operator” to 1981’s “The Boy from New York City” to 1995’s “Too Busy Thinking About My Baby,” with plenty of stops in between. A cappella gospel group Take 6 has more of a soulful sound, with hits including “A Quiet Place,” “Biggest Part of Me,” and “O Thou That Tellest Good Tidings to Zion.

As the most special event of the Fairy Festival weekend, the Twilight Fairy Gala is a magical evening experience for the whole family. It often becomes a highly-anticipated family tradition!

The whole evening is magical and the end of the evening “surprise” is AMAZING! The Twilight Fairy Gala is a ticketed event that allows guests to visit the Fairy Kingdom ahead of the weekend crowds. We also encourage families to dress in their “fairy best”!

The cost is $50 for one parent and one child and includes a light catered meal and dessert, dancing, a craft activity, a performance and a t-shirt and gift bag for the child…more magic than you can imagine

Additional tickets are $15 per person and additional t-shirts are $12. This special event is a fundraiser in support of Jackson School of the Arts’ mission.

We welcome you to a very special weekend filled with activities, crafts, and vendors inspired by child-like imagination. Boys and girls always find the Festival full of wonderment and their grown-up companions can’t help but rediscover the child inside themselves as well!

The two-day weekend event is free and includes arts & crafts, vendors, Ye Ole Fairy Shoppe, the Cupcake Cafe, a Fairy Garden Contest, Tea with Miss Jackson Crossroads, carriage rides, dancing fairies and performances by the Fairy Festival Players.

Walk through the Fairy Kingdom, Mermaid Cove and explore the dark mountain. Meet a Fairy Princess and travel to Neverland with Captain Hook on his ship. Plan to stay all day and have lunch in Fairy Landing. Don’t forget to dress up!
