Typically, the Juneteenth Celebration is a yearly event held in beautiful Downtown Jackson Michigan every 3rd Saturday in June. It recognizes Michigan’s state Juneteenth holiday which honors the singing and implementation of the 1863 emancipation proclamation and also commemorates the time two years later when all American Citizens were truly freed by presidential executive order.

This multicultural event is filled with history, food, education song, dance and good old fun for all ages. And it manages to showcase our city’s strong commitment and continued effort to live and work together to honor our past, embrace our present and strive for a better future.
