Fall Foliage Festival – Tipton

Fall Foliage Festival - Tipton

Hidden Lake Garden’s annual Fall Foliage Festival will again feature crafts for the kids, pumpkin painting, wagon rides, scarecrow displays, artisans, and food vendors. Be sure to stop by between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm for live reptile and amphibian demonstrations. Thanks to Lenawee Hoofbeats 4H Group, they are also offering a mini petting zoo. They are again partnering with Tecumseh District Library to offer Pioneer Day featuring demonstrations of the lost arts.

Cost: $7 per person ($25 maximum per vehicle) / Free for Friends of HLG. HLG memberships can be purchased ahead of time by calling (517) 431-2060 or purchased at the gatehouse the day of the festival.

Goblin Walks, a not-so-scary event offers magical entertainment just in time for Halloween! A half-mile of Halloween fun awaits you along the pumpkin-lit trails. Meet larger-than-life wildlife who teach you why they aren’t so scary through skits and songs. Afterwards, enjoy hot apple cider and donuts while singing songs and listening to stories. There will be at least two new skits this year, so you want to be sure to get your reservations in soon!

Friday and Saturday Oct. 25 & 26 evening starting at 6:30 pm and every 15 minutes following, another group heads down the pumpkin-lit trail and the last group at 8:30 pm. Fee per person:$7/Dahlem member, $10/non-member. This spooktacular FREE event is intended for children five and under (and older siblings) who are not quite ready to participate in nighttime Trick-or-Treating. Participants are invited to dress in costume and will be able to explore the exhibits and get treats at several locations around the museum. Visitors are welcome to stay and play in the museum after Toddler Trick-or-Treat is over.

The event will take place at Kids ‘N’ Stuff Children’s Museum

Join Rescue Me Jackson Area And Meckley’s Flavor Fruit Farms for the first ever Howl-O-Ween event! This is a pet friendly event.
Starting at noon on Saturday October 26th at Meckley’s there will be:
Corn hole

Hot dog roast
Pet and kid costume parade starting at 2 PM
Pet costume contest
Bakery open
Jackson County Animal Shelter will be at the event 12-5 with adorable adoptable pets for you to bring home!

Last year’s trunk or treat was Hoof & Heart’s best attended event of the year. Kids of all ages in costumes or not, are invited to spend time with the horses, many of whom will themselves be decked out in their Halloween best. Share some love with a rescue or sanctuary horse! They are happy to pose for pictures. Treats will be provided for both horses and kids. This event is free, wheelchair accessible, and open to all ages.

Head to Jackson for the first ever, Fright Walls! This event will be fun for the whole family. Enjoy trick or treating at the site of the 2019 Bright Walls. It will be “trunk or treat” style and goal is to fill a few parking lots full, so you and your little ones can tour the murals while you get sweet treats!

The YMCA is putting on a FREE community event that provides a safe trick or treating alternative for kids. Last year over 1,000 kids were served! There will also be a distribution of kids’ winter hats and mittens free of charge. More than 500 pairs of mittens were handed out last year!

You can help by donating candy or mittens/hats – all donations can be dropped off at the front desk of either branch. To volunteer or sign up to host a trunk, contact megan@jacksonymca.org

Join Westwinds Church for a one-of-a-kind Halloween adventure! Worlds of Pure Imagination: When Books come to Life! will take you on a wondrous journey through some favorite childhood books (while collecting candy along the way).

The event runs from 6-8pm on Thursday, October 31. Arrive as early as 5pm and join the DJ Willy Wonka-Palooza in the Stockyard (outdoor patio area)! You can kill time dancing and playing games outside while awaitng your turn to go inside!

The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.”

The musical will take place at Western Theatre Arts.

Tickets are on sale beginning October 7th.
