Online Allergies Course from The Red Cross- Online
As part of National Preparedness Month, the American Red Cross is making sure that communities and individuals are equipped to respond to life-threatening allergic reactions by offering a new online course designed to teach the public about identifying and responding to allergic reactions. The Anaphylaxis and Epinephrine Auto-Injector Course just became available the week of September 23 and takes about 30 minutes to complete. The course focuses on the recognition of anaphylaxis (allergic reactions), the basic steps to follow in anaphylactic emergencies, and the administration of an epinephrine auto-injector, or EpiPen, to someone experiencing a reaction. No prior trainings or certifications are required to sign-up for the course.
The online course is available to anyone from the community, and the cost for enrollment is $20 per person. To sign up, participants can visit redcross.org/takeaclass. In addition to being available on laptops and computers, the course may also be taken on most tablet devices. Those who complete the program are eligible to receive an epinephrine auto-injector training device.
