You are invited to be part of the observance of the 2013 National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 2, at Bucky Harris Park in downtown Jackson, beginning at Noon. The 2013 Theme for the National Day of Prayer is “Pray for America”. The verse supporting the theme is Matthew 12:21 “In His Name the nations will put their hope.”
God has richly blessed America throughout the history of our nation. However, many of the principles from the Bible that our founders cherished are being abandoned. There are many examples in God’s Word of His people coming together in prayer and humility, to turn back to faith in Him. The National Day of Prayer has been observed in the United States for 62 years on the first Thursday in May, and a gathering has been held in Jackson for the past several years.
The event will include music and times of corporate prayer, led by a variety of community leaders, as well as opportunities to gather in small groups for personal prayer. You are welcome to come at any time during the gathering, and leave as your schedule allows.
Join in this rich heritage of recognizing our dependence on God, and Pray for America, from Noon to 1 p.m. at Bucky Harris Park in downtown Jackson. If you have questions, call 517-262-6841.
