Mixing Layers in Colored Pencil Demo – Jackson

Jackson Civic Art Association Presents: “Artist Kate Darnell-Mixing Layers in Colored Pencil Drawing Hands-on Demo”
Help us welcome accomplished Artist Kate Darnell to our next JCAA meeting April 15, 2014, 7:00 PM, Community Room Ella Sharp Museum, 3225 Fourth St., Jackson. At the meeting which is open to the public, Kate will be demonstrating “how layering pencil strokes can result in creating a wide range of colors while using only four colors.” This useful skill can also be applied when using a wider color palette. Attendees are encouraged to bring supplies. Kate will be bringing a limited number of pre- packaged pencil sets of 4 colors for $5. (exact amount please)
(Colors used are: Prismacolor True Blue, Process Red, Canary Yellow and Black)
In addition to being a Freelance Artist/Illustrator and Creator of Fine Art, Kate is on the faculty at Lansing Community College. Her Art has been shown in numerous Solo Exhibitions, Galleries, Juried and Invitational Exhibits.
Doors open at 6:00 for refreshments/socializing, Mtg begins at 6:30 and Presentation begins at 7:00 PM.
