Famed composer Igor Stravinsky once described the pipe organ as “the monster that never breathes.” The First United Methodist Church of Jackson has one of the finest pipe organs in the state, and this concert will showcase the instrument in a variety of repertoire including Poulenc’s Concerto for Organ performed by Jackie Livesay and St. Saens’ Symphony #3 for Organ and Orchestra performed by Andy Mead. Two performances will be held, one on Saturday evening and one on Sunday afternoon.
