Fundraising Professionals bring national speakers to East Lansing
The Association of Fundraising Professionals Capital Area Chapter’s (AFP-CAC) annual conference welcomes renowned speakers Debra Minton, Charles Ballard and Paul Miles to its annual conference March 19 at Eagle Eye Club House in East Lansing.
The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Debra Minton, president and founder of boutique consulting firm Philanthropia Partners, hosts the first session, “The Anatomy of a Major Gift.” Attendees will explore the benefits, development and key components of major gift programs.
Michigan State University Economics Professor Charles Ballard, Ph.D. hosts the lunch session, “The Economy and Fundraising.” Ballard focuses on the impact of the 2008 recession and the economy’s recent growth, suggesting policies for a bright economic future.
The conference closes with Paul Miles, vice president of development at Make-A-Wish America. During “Being Ready for Your Moment: How to Prepare for Your Moment in the Spotlight,” Miles will cover the recent Make-A-Wish success of Bat Kid and the process behind it.
