We thank each of the participants for their commitment to the leadership academy for the past seven months and to the continued development of their skills after graduation.

The Chamber will honor past graduate John Polaczyk with the 2013 Pat Carlton Community Leadership Award. John says “I graduated in 2002; My thoughts were that I could meet community and non-profit leaders and find a path to use whatever talents that I had to serve the community. That path took me into local politics; where after serving on a number of boards and commissions, I was appointed and then elected to the City of Jackson Council, as councilperson to the 6th ward. Last November I was elected to the Jackson County Commission where I serve the 8th district. I would never have been able to achieve any of the elections, commissions, or boards, without first having the knowledge and contacts that I made in the Leadership Academy.”

We hope you can help us celebrate the achievements of this year’s leadership academy graduates.

Cake will be served and come to see the newly renovated concession stand at the Michigan Theatre.

Cost is free; RSVP to Mary or call 517-782-8221.
