Classic Turning, Inc. announced the completion of its building renovation and process line expansion of the recently acquired Great Lakes Metal Finishing, LLC Subsidiary at 120 South Dwight Street in Jackson, Michigan. Classic Turning, Inc., one of the Midwest’s largest and fastest growing companies serves a multitude of industries and is capable of supplying complex parts complete with all special in-house metal finishing operations.
To celebrate the occasion Classic Turning, in coordination with the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting an Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday October 24, 2013 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at its Great Lakes Metal Finishing facility located at 120 S. Dwight Street in Jackson.
Alex Webster, President of Classic Turning announced “the acquisition was completed in December of last year and since that time we have been busy renovating the building and process lines to make it a premiere aerospace special processing facility. Integration of GLMF with Classic Turning positions the company for the forecasted growth in the aerospace, industrial and medical markets.” With expanded capabilities using the latest equipment and technology, Great Lakes Metal Finishing can now perform Anodize per MIL-A-8625 Type II Class 1 and 2, Chromate Conversion Coating per MIL-DTL-5541, Passivation per AMS2700, Type 2 and 7, Phosphate Conversion Coat per AMS2484, Media Blast, Dry Film Lubrication, Paint and Black Oxide all in-house.

The 14,355 square foot facility has been updated and configured for optimum process flow throughout the plant. The integration of Great Lakes Metal Finishing allows Classic Turning to manufacture various machined fittings, adapters and valves with all special coatings for Classic Turning’s aerospace, medical and high performance industrial customers. The expansion and forecasted growth will create approximately 10 new full-time jobs at the company.
